Paul McCartney is an English singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist best known as a founding member of The Beatles. Born on June 18, 1942, in Liverpool, he rose to global fame in the 1960s alongside John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. McCartney wrote or co-wrote many of the band's most iconic songs, including “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be,” and “Yesterday.” After The Beatles disbanded, he formed the band Wings and continued a highly successful solo career.
